Having been a part of the nu-skool breaks scene for a few years, playing regularly at events as one half of 'The Breakz Alliance', whilst maintaining his old skool hardcore credentials (in his 17th year now!), DJ Flashback immediately locked into the new Hardcore Breaks/Nu-rave sound that was emerging from artists such as Darkus, Vinyl Junkie, Stu & Nee, Enzyme & Malice (to name but a few) which fused the old skool sound and vibe from the past with brand new fresh up-to-date studio production from the present. DJ Flashback AKA The Flashback Project is Farrukh Wasiuddin, London’s very own award-winning Old Skool Hardcore and Breaks DJ and one half of The Breakz Alliance. He started DJing in 1990 whilst studying at Surrey University, played at all of the University events and had his own show on Radio Surrey from 1990-1991. Soon after he became a regular on Greenapple pirate radio. He organised and played at raves whilst still at Uni, in 1991, booking PA's such as The Scientist, HHFD and K-Klass. Also at this time he played at Kemistry on the South Coast, The Milk Bar and The Marquee in London. Since then he has played at various sell-out events in Germany, Switzerland, Holland, Spain and Poland as well as playing all over the UK at many events including private parties and illegal outdoor raves. He currently is in the 11th year of his residency with Raindance, and also holds residencies with Epidemik, Hardcore Revival, Resonance, Sunday Skool, Divine Promotions and Riverdance, as well as playing regularly for Moondance, Together As One, Warning, Breaking Science, Best of British, Life 4 Land and Seduction. He has played at many legendary rave venues including The Sanctuary, The Rocket, The Dielectric Club, Hastings Pier, Fantasy Island, Bagleys, The Ministry Of Sound, Camden Palace and Labyrinth. |
